Technology Vs Real Time Experience

In the last 3 months, whenever I had gone to a good Tourist / Picnic / Sight Seeing spot, many people are much interested in covering the entire scene in maximum 2inch * 2 inch display of their mobile or Digital camera display rather than enjoying the experience Real Time.

When we saw the Musical Fountain in Brindavan Garden, Mysore and Coorg as soon as the fountain started “n” number of mobile cameras and digital cameras came up to capture the scene. But the unfortunate thing is most of that was able to capture only complete Dark outdoor as it was quite a distant and complete darkness added to the complexity. By the time, they realized that Technology foresaked them, the Musical Fountain was complete and they had missed that experience.

The same thing happened while seeing Sunset at Raja Seat in Coorg. Sunset is certainly an amazing experience to be watched without any disturbance. Even seeing that through the small display while the whole world is available in front of us is toooooooooo much of Technological use.

I think at times Technology should not be used to miss out the wonderful experience of certain things like this.

    Hi Yagya,
I too realised this thing some time recently only. Many time when i went to Temples I was busy praying for my needs, recently heard a Upanyasam of Krishna Premi, where he said “when one has surrendered to the God then he should not ask this and that later”. When i was in Temple later, these words struck me and then instead of praying i was looking at the God in the temple and noticed many features of that God which were not noticed earlier and similarly when i was going around the temple in each and every place there were some many deities which were beautifully placed by the temple constructors to see and experience. As you say it is better to enjoy the beauty through our natural lens than artificial. But there is always another view point where we need to share what we enjoyed. May be after we have enjoyed the same we can take few photos. Also nowadays I try to Switch off the Mobiles on entering the Temples and enjoy than be disturbed by the Rings.Nice Said by you

100% agreed. What’s the point of watching the whole thing through a lens. Why go in the first place.
