Sony to Nokia…

August 27, 2008 yagyaraman 1 comment

I was using Sony P990i mobile for close to a year. Last month, it fell off my hand very forcely and that’s ittttttttttttttttt. Totally damaged to a level of touch screen not working, no ring sound, no vibration, disturbed display………I thought it time to buy another one.

Though of buying a very basic model because my history was one mobile was crushed in the back tyre of my bike, one lost while coming to Chennai from Bangalore and now this one fell from my hand. Finally decided to buy a good one. Me and Madhu went to a mobile store and saw couple of them and finally decided to buy Nokia E 71 (20K J). After using QWERTY keypad for sometime, wanted to go with that and this was good.

It is 2 weeks since I am using E71 and really this seems to be a great phone I have used. Very sleek, very professional and has lots and lots of features. Reading messages, 2 different home screen etc etc….

After I bought it, lots of advertisement in paper about this model. I made it famous again…

Want to know more about the model, http://www.e71blog.com and http://www.e71fanatics.com gives tones of information.

All my contacts were there in my backup, but Calendar entries with all Birthday reminders were gone …

Missing TREES

August 19, 2008 yagyaraman 2 comments

There is so much of campaigning and discussion about Green India, reducing usage of paper to save trees etc.. Madiwala is a place in Hosur Road (buses coming from TN through Hosur would come in this road) which had lot of trees, which were really huge and gave shadow for the whole place.

Last week, when I went to Madiwala, Oh. God. It was difficult to even identify that I was in Madiwala because those Huge trees were CUT. I have passed through that road many times, but on that day, I felt little heavy in heart.  They have cut the trees which gave shadow to the entire area for reasons known only to them.

Immediately I remembered what Abdul Kalam did once. He was flying to Kerala to attend a School program and to plan for his arrival, the Officials there had cut the trees to get ready an Helipad where Kalam’s copter can land. On this arrival, he heard about the incident and he ordered them to bring almost double the number of trees that was destroyed and he planted them along with the Children and he advised them to take care of the trees till they grow. Only after their conformance, did Kalam attended the function.

That is Abdul Kalam…

Bheemeshwari Fishing Camp

August 6, 2008 yagyaraman 3 comments

Bheemeshwari Fishing Camp (Cauvery Fishing Camp) is around 90 Kms from our house. Me and Madhu had been there on the last week of July. One of the amazingly silent places I have ever seen recently was that. The last 30 Kms is drive through few villages and mountains. On one side we saw mountains and within few minutes we had circled the mountain and came to a different place. The road was amazingly beautiful (See the photos at the end of the post to see the beauty of the route and the place).

Booked for the place through Jungle Lodge and Resorts. The program is for a day. Check-in at 12 Noon and Check-out at 11 AM the following day.

We checked in around 12:30 PM on Sunday (yes, I had taken leave on Monday). As we reached there it started raining which later came down to drizzles. On reaching the place we found that no mobile network, works there except BSNL (that too at times). They took us in a Jeep from the Car Parking to the Log Hut (LH) where we stayed. Ours was the last LH. It was close to the dining area and few meters away from the place where Cauvery flows. Wow! what an amazing view. It was almost in the mid of the forest (it appeared with tree all around, Monkeys jumping outside).

The one day plan is to relax to a major extent with activities being only Boat ride and Fishing on the first day evening and Trekking on the following morning. Totally it was only few hours, and the remaining hours is for us to roam around, walk and while away the time.

The LH had all facilities, light, fan, AC, Gaizer etc. and was most comfortable. The view of trees through the window and sight of Cauvery from the entrance was amazing.

It was an amazingly extra-ordinarily wonderfully excellent place. Costed Rs. 5,000/- for the place (including Accomodation, Lunch, Snacks, Dinner and Breakfast along with Boat Ride, Fishing and Trekking).

If you are intrested in driving from Bangalore a must visit place for couples :-) to enjoy completely outside from the City life.
