Internet few years back…
Me and Madhu were discussing about Internet before few years…. If I look back on these items now, it is funny…
1. My first hard disk size was 2 GB. (Now, my monthly download limit on broadband is 4 GB 
2. I used to lay wire everytime from the hall where the landline phone was kept to the room where my Computer and Dial up modem were kept for me to browse
3. I had to browse fast because someone might call and line will appear BUSY for a long time
4. I browsed early mornings so that browsing speed is fast and it was compatively cheaper
5. I was really excited and felt on TOP of the world when I created my first email id yagyaraman@hotmail.com (I still remember when I said to my father “Now anybody from anywhere in the world can send an email and I will receive it in few seconds time)
6. I still remember, how I recorded voice as wave file and sent it to my sister in USA free of cost
7. I have used floppy disk (big and small ones) to copy files from my house to the browsing center before we had Internet in our house
8. Hearing song as MP3 file in the Computer was a big accomplishment as the Computer can also know to SING A SONG
9. I have bought a single blank CD @ Rs. 150/-
DD Podhigai
After a long time, I had a chance to watch DD Podhigai. Some things have not changed for almost a decade
- Ithu oru vilambaratharar nigazhi
- Thadangalukku Varunthukirom
- Same two chairs for one man and a woman in Ethiroli
- Still reading letters that are sent through Post, mostly Post cards
- Similar answers like “Ithu migavum payanulla nigazchi”, “Thodarnthu kaditham ezhuthungal”
- Same room with one sofa and two wodden chairs used in the dramas, but with different curtains
Something new I heard this time was in one of the answers in Ethiroli, the guy said “Unga areala DD Podigai varalainna nenga poi unga Cable TV Operator oda discuss pannunga. Yenna DD Podigai la varra nall nigazchigalai pakkarthu unga urimai” – I have NO COMMENTS on this one
Nandi Hills
Me and Madhu decided to go to Nandi Hills on a Saturday Morning. It was around 70 Kilometers from our house. First time, I drove such a long distance. I had heard already that it wont be a typical hills with many hairpin bends.
It was a good drive and the road was good. Went past the Devanahalli International Airport and after around 7 – 10 kilometers took a left and went for around 25 kilometers. Enjoyed the drive and took snaps on the way.
Final 8 kilometers was in the hills. It was not steep. There were around 5 steep hairpin bends. Drove with ease there . Finally reached the top. It was an excellent view from there.
On the top of the hills, it was greenary and nature all around. They have put in many benches in shades so that people can relax and chat.
There is a temple on the top of the hills. It was very old temlple with very small entrances at all places. Idol was kept in a distance in a very small place where only the poojari can bend and go and do pooja. Outside the temple on the other side was a good view of the city. Since the hills was not too low or too high in altitude the view was perfect.
We both enjoyed the atmosphere and had an excellent time for around 4-5 hours before coming back into the city

Wonder La…
Me and Madhu had been to Wonder La recently (We had been off to new couples in the last couple of weeks, all coming up as blogs shortly).
Oh. What a place to enjoy the weekend. As soon as we went in, put all our things in the Locker. They have an excellent Locker room, Shower room, Changing room and the entire place is maintained so Cleannnnnnnn.
Picked up the map of Wonder La to locate which ride is where. The very first ride that we went in was a “Thriller ride“. There were around 7 (not sure exactly) thriller rides. In the first ride, after we sat, they put the iron bar in front of us which was locked . When it started moving, we were actually not in the seat. Literally in the air and adding to the thrill, it moved clockwise for 3 rounds and anti-clockwise for 3 rounds (these 6 rounds, 2 times). Shouted (actually screamed) at the peak of the voice during the ride.
After that went to the next ones and many were exciting. The next thriller was “Free Fall“. They took us up slowly and from there just drop to reach one third of the distance and stop for a second and then drop the next one third and after one more second gap, reach the bottom. This happened for few times (not sure how many times). It is amazing to just scream in rides like that not looking at anyone. Even when I was confident the expression on people looking at me, made me close the eyes
Madhu went in another thriller ride “thala kizha poratti podara ridu“. I enjoyed it completely standing outside
There was this Giant Wheel (Truly giant). May be from there I should have been able to locate our house . Slow and gave a very good view of places around the Wonder La.
Ate good snacks and lunch (food is also good) and went to Water rides!!!!
Oh! That was really amazing. (In fact, many people roam around till Noon and directly go to Water rides and spend whole day there only). Not much words to explain. It has to be experienced , especially going as Couples….
After the fun filled Sunday, came back to City to get ready for Office the next day….
